BACKGROUND
(from http://www.tvacres.com/spies_86.htm) Max was born in 1930 (delivered by a Dr. Linquist) under the zodiac sign of Scorpio and raised in Washington, DC. He models himself after another klutzy Control agent No. 4 (a.k.a. "Herbert Gaffer"). Max is so devoted to his career that he embroiders his bathrobe and pajamas with his secret agent number 86.
PERSONALITY
Proud to a fault, even cocky, Maxwell Smart stumbles in where angels fear to tread. He's sincere in his secret agent activities for the USA, but oblivious to his own limitations.

POWERS/TACTICS
Mainly, he bumbles his way into success, although he actually is quite competent at some core level (a good fighter at times). Max also often has access to some incredible gadgets, though he has severe limitations in his near-inability to work them.

Smart is a unique character in that his skills are mostly 8 or less but he perceives them to be 14 or less. He does have three overall levels which the GM will allow for use with those skills...although that requires a 10 or less Activation Roll! Of course, as with other players, the Smart player receives a Plot Point...use it to good effect!
